Tell Your Story

Please use this survey to tell your story and discuss your experience with shunning.

As you start populate the fields, the survey will adapt to your responses.

You can reveal as little or as much as you like. You’ll have an opportunity at the end of the survey to have it published on this website if you so wish as an article to highlight the impact Jehovah’s Witnesses’ beliefs, doctrines and practices have had on your life.

If you select not to have your data published publicly, we intend to publish numerical data that is non-identifiable (i.e total number shunned, disfellowshipped etc.) to document the impact Jehovah’s Witnesses’ practice of shunning has on its victims. There will be no means for anyone to publicly identify you with this data.

However, aside from the publication of numerical data, we do ask at the end of the survey if we may share some of your submission details with third parties. You are under NO obligation to accept. These include, but may not be limited to:

  • Academics studying Jehovah’s Witnesses beliefs, doctrines, or practices, including shunning and its impact.
  • Health Professionals gaining insight on the impact of shunning within Jehovah’s Witnesses.
  • Law Professionals and Human Rights Experts working to learn more about the complexity of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ shunning on it’s members and former members.
  • Law enforcement who may find the information helpful for the prevention of crime.
  • Journalists who are investigating or reporting on Jehovah’s Witnesses shunning and its impact.
